Theo Hernandez OUT?

AC Milan may part ways with French defender this summer

Reports from Italy suggest that AC Milan is considering selling Theo Hernandez after their Champions League elimination.

“The millions Milan loses by missing out on the round of 16 rule out any chances of Theo Hernandez receiving a contract extension or salary increase,” stated Gazzetta dello Sport.

AC Milan finds itself in a delicate situation following their exit from the UEFA Champions League, and one potential consequence of this setback could be the sale of French left-back Theo Hernandez. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the club’s management is now contemplating parting ways with one of their key players in recent years.

The 27-year-old defender expressed his desire to remain at San Siro, requesting an extension to his contract, which is due to expire in 2026, as well as a salary increase to €7 million per season, similar to that of star player Rafael Leao.

However, the elimination from European competition has significantly impacted the club’s finances, making it difficult for Milan’s management to meet these demands.

The club is set to lose a significant amount of money as a result of missing out on the knockout stages, and this will undoubtedly affect their summer transfer plans.

According to Italian press reports, selling Theo Hernandez could be a solution to balance the club’s finances. In fact, the club had considered the possibility of letting him go during the January transfer window.
