Viktor Gyokeres Set for Summer Move

Swedish forward could leave for a significantly lower fee than originally agreed in his contract

Viktor Gyokeres: A New Deal with Sporting for a Summer Move

Have captured the attention of top European clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, PSG, and Bayern Munich

Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres, 26, has been in sensational form for Sporting Lisbon this season, scoring 37 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions.

Despite his rising stock, Sporting Lisbon has agreed to reduce Gyokeres’ transfer fee for the summer, even though his contract contains a release clause of €100 million.

A Pact with Sporting: Lower Transfer Fee Agreed for Summer Move

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Gyokeres has reached an agreement with Sporting Lisbon and his agent.

The understanding stipulates that if Gyokeres stays until the summer, he will be allowed to leave for a fee significantly lower than the €100 million originally stated in his contract.

Romano explained:

“The fee in the summer will likely be around €65-75 million, a much more affordable price for one of Europe’s top strikers. Gyokeres has been exceptional this season, scoring an incredible number of goals and showcasing his relentless goal-scoring obsession. All the major clubs in Europe want him this summer.”

This reduction in transfer fee comes as a result of Gyokeres’ decision to stay at Sporting Lisbon for the remainder of the 2024-2025 season,

Rather than leaving in the January transfer window as many clubs had hoped.

Summer Transfer Battle: Top European Clubs Eyeing Gyokeres

While Gyokeres is in demand across Europe, his desire to play in the Champions League next season significantly diminishes the chances of him moving to Manchester United.

The Red Devils are currently in 14th place in the Premier League, 13 points behind the 5th spot, which is the final position for Champions League qualification.

Gyokeres is keen on securing a move to a club that will offer him Champions League football next season, which makes his move to Manchester United unlikely.
