A Surprise Appointment
Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of appointing Thomas Frank (51) as their new head coach, in what many will regard as a surprising move by chairman Daniel Levy. The Dane will succeed Ange Postecoglou, who guided Spurs to Europa League glory last season but has now been relieved of his duties.

Negotiations Concluded
After protracted talks with Brentford, Tottenham have agreed to pay a £10 million fee (approximately €12 million) to secure Frank’s services. The deal, which brings to an early close his contract at the Bees (running until summer 2027), was confirmed by Fabrizio Romano with his trademark “Here we go!” declaration. The official unveiling is expected within days, allowing Frank to prepare for the 2025–26 campaign.
Why Frank?
At Brentford, Frank earned widespread praise for transforming a modest-budget side into consistent top-flight over-achievers. His reputation for building disciplined, well-drilled teams—capable of punch-above-their-weight performances—has clearly appealed to Spurs’ hierarchy.

Postecoglou’s Farewell
Shortly after Tottenham announced his departure, Postecoglou shared an emotional message with the Spurs faithful:
“When I think of my time as Tottenham manager, the overriding feeling is pride. Leading one of England’s historic clubs to Europa League success and sharing that moment with supporters will stay with me forever. Bilbao’s night in the final was the pinnacle of two years of hard work, dedication and belief.”
He added:
“We faced many challenges and a lot of noise, but we laid the foundations so that Spurs would not have to wait another seven years for silverware. I thank the fans for their unwavering support—they were the fuel behind our success.”
Financial Details
The £10 million outlay reflects Tottenham’s ambition to build on recent achievements. Brentford, for their part, will reap a handsome return on Frank, the man who elevated them from Championship battlers to Premier League stalwarts.
