Huge Investment Could Impact Squad Strength
With United currently struggling in the Premier League, sitting 14th with just 34 points from 28 matches, fans worry that financial constraints might further hinder their progress.
Balancing Performance and Infrastructure
Manchester United aims to avoid a decline in performance while financing the new stadium.
Berrada acknowledged the risks but assured fans that the club is exploring solutions.
“It’s a challenge, but we want to remain competitive. Investing in the squad remains a priority while building the new stadium,” he said, as quoted by Reuters.
The club is considering ways to accelerate construction, hoping to complete the stadium within five years.
Reducing the timeline could minimise financial strain, ensuring Manchester United continues to invest in top talent.

A Stadium to Rival the Best
Designed by world-renowned architect Norman Foster, the new stadium will be built next to Old Trafford.
The current ground, which has stood since 1910, no longer meets modern standards.
Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe compared the project to the Eiffel Tower, stating that he wants the stadium to become a landmark for football fans worldwide.
“This is more than just a stadium. Everyone knows about the Eiffel Tower, and everyone will want to visit this arena,” Ratcliffe said, as reported by Marca.
Uncertain Timeline but Clear Ambitions
Despite the club’s ambition to complete the stadium within five years, Ratcliffe admitted that delays are possible.
“We could take ten years or five years, but I’d prefer five. In ten years, I might not even be here,” he said.
Manchester United’s plan is bold, but its impact on the squad remains uncertain.
Will the club strike the right balance between infrastructure and on-pitch success? Only time will tell.
