Everton took the lead in the 12th minute with Beto opening the scoring. Liverpool responded quickly with Alexis Mac Allister equalising just 4 minutes later, assisted by Mohamed Salah. The first half ended in a 1-1 draw, with both teams setting the stage for a dramatic second half.

Liverpool gained the advantage in the 73rd minute with a goal from Mohamed Salah, putting them in front. Just when it seemed like Everton’s hopes were dashed, in the 90+8th minute, with the final play of the match, James Tarkowski scored a last-minute equaliser, delivering a dramatic finish to the game.

Tensions exploded after the final whistle. Curtis Jones of Liverpool and Abdoulaye Doucouré of Everton had a heated exchange, leading to a scuffle on the sidelines. Referee Michael Oliver issued red cards to both Doucouré and Curtis Jones. In a final twist, Arne Slot, Everton’s manager, was also sent off for unsporting behaviour.
