Van Dijk Signs Massive Liverpool Deal

PSGTried, But Failed – Why Van Dijk Said “No”

Signing £400k/Week Deal Amid PSG Rumours

Captained Liverpool since 2023

Virgil van Dijk has officially signed a new two-year deal with Liverpool, putting an end to speculation about a potential summer move. The Dutch defender will now earn £400,000 per week, making him one of the highest-paid players in the Premier League.

The 33-year-old centre-back, whose contract was set to expire this summer, has confirmed he’s staying at Anfield, just days after Mohamed Salah extended his own deal.

“For me, it was always Liverpool. That’s never changed. It was always the plan,” said Van Dijk, following his signature on the lucrative new contract.

Reports in recent weeks suggested Paris Saint-Germain had made a tempting offer, with insiders claiming Van Dijk was “very close” to accepting. But the Liverpool captain made his stance clear:

“There was never any doubt in my mind. This is where I belong. My family and I are part of this club – someone even called me an adopted Scouser. That meant the world to me.”

Legacy at Anfield

Since joining from Southampton in January 2018 for £75 million, Van Dijk has:

  • Played 314 matches

  • Captained Liverpool since 2023

  • Won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, two League Cups, and the FIFA Club World Cup

Under his new contract, he’ll earn around £21 million a year, showing just how much Liverpool value his leadership and legacy.

With the Reds chasing another Premier League title, Van Dijk’s commitment sends a strong message: he’s not done yet
