Bellingham Banned for Two Matches

Real Madrid Appeals Star Midfielder’s Suspension

Jude Bellingham (21) has been suspended for two matches after receiving a red card in Real Madrid’s 1-1 draw against Osasuna in La Liga’s 24th round.

The English midfielder will miss the upcoming league fixtures against Girona and Real Betis. Real Madrid has confirmed they will appeal the decision.

What Happened on the Pitch

The incident occurred in the 39th minute against Osasuna when Bellingham had a heated exchange with the referee, believing Real Madrid should have been awarded a penalty.

According to Marca journalists, the Englishman allegedly told the referee: “I’m speaking to you with respect, f**k off!” Jose Luis Munuera Montero interpreted this as a direct insult and immediately brandished the red card.

Luka Modric later revealed that the referee explained the decision by claiming Bellingham had said, “F**k you!”, which led to his dismissal. The midfielder was visibly stunned, responding with a shocked “What?!” in disbelief.

Bellingham Maintains His Innocence

Following the match, Jude Bellingham offered his version of events, stating that the situation was a misunderstanding.

“It’s clear that a mistake has been made, it was a communication error. I don’t want to repeat what I said, but it was something similar to ‘joder’ (a Spanish expletive). I want everyone to know I never intended to leave my team short-handed. If you watch the footage, you’ll see I didn’t say what’s written in the report. I hope the Federation considers this.”

While awaiting the final decision on Real Madrid’s appeal, Bellingham will shift his focus to the UEFA Champions League second-leg clash against Manchester City, where he will have the chance to make an impact on the pitch.
